In the United States there are 1.3 million people that are legally blind, and of this population 130,000 are totally blind. Roughly 70% of these totally blind people suffer from non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder, a circadian rhythm sleep disorder in which an individual’s biological clock fails to synchronize to a 24-hour day.
